The Healer's Hand Series no. 38

 I recently completed a new small wall sculpture.  It is part of my Healer's Hand series. The piece is 7.3 inches high (18.54 cm), 7 inches wide (17.78 cm) and 1.25 inches deep (3.17 cm). This work was created with wood, found object, metal hardware, clay, twine and leather.

I first gathered and laid out most of the elements.

After cutting the wood to length I sanded the edges all around and then sealed with unwaxed shellac. Once that was dried and I sanded again and painted it. The next step was to assemble the items. During this process the work typically takes on a life of it's own and guides me to completion.
